I have a confession. I love food. I love everything about it. I enjoy cooking but absolutely love going out to a nice restaurant even more. There is something about the whole dining out experience that I find to be so fun. Finding a great restaurant to eat at can be tricky, especially if you are on vacation or just want to have a nice night out with your man. I have had the pleasure to check out some these delicious hot spots that I think both you and your stomach need to experience. I will continue to update you on my favorite food finds, but take a look at some of the restaurants I visited in the past few months.
25-27 Heddon Street, W1B 4BN
They are known for their North African and Mediterranean cuisine that features tasteful sour-sweet meats marinated in flavorful spices. The couscous is too die for along with their variety of teas. One of the reasons I fell in love with this place is because the atmosphere is a visual success. Grab a big group of friends and sit outside on their outdoor terrace and forget about life! You will feel like you are in a whole other world.
The Fat Dog LA, http://www.thefatdogla.com
801 North Fairfax Ave
Dining out in LA is much different than being in the Big Apple as the nightlife energy is just totally different. One of the things I just enjoy about eating at The Fat Dog (and don’t let the name scare ya) is that buzzy feeling you get when you are there. Their outside space is small but they definitely tried to make it feel very urban. The food and service go hand in hand as both are friendly. Their menu is what some of you may consider chill but they have added their own edge to make it unique and very welcoming to your taste buds. Their French Dip Sandwich is heavenly along with their Jalapeno Mac and Cheese. If you are looking to grab a nice cold beer and enjoy some fun food on your “cheat day,” than make sure you check this place out. Be sure you ask what their pasta special is for the day as they change that up all the time. For all you LA locals, there is super easy parking so that is another reason to check this yummy place out.
Le Colonial, http://www.lecolonialchicago.com
937 North Rush Street
I consider Chicago to be one of my most favorite places to visit. It is fun for the whole family and their restaurants are top notch. Downtown Chicago is filled with so many options to choose from, so finding a place to eat can be overwhelming. The first time I went to Le Colonial, I was 21 years old and did not have much of an open mind in the food department but was incredibly surprised when I dined on their impressive cuisine. Le Colonial is noted to be an upscale French-Vietnames restaurant located off Rush Street just across the street from my favorite Starbucks location in Chicago. Their service is flawless and the atmosphere is small but filled with a good spirit. Please order their Ga Xao Cari, a sauteed dish with diced chicken with Japanese eggplant, mango, yams, string beans and cashew nuts. YUM!
1047 Pearl Street
I heard about SALT restaurant from my friends living locally in the Boulder area so I was dying to find out what all the buzz was about. Being a person that loves to go out to eat, I found this beautifully decorated restaurant to be simply fantastic. I first tried the tasteful Local Kale Salad that is filled with avocado, red onion, tamari, olive oil, agave and a twist of lemon followed by their Oak Fired Berkshire Pork Tenderloin. Let me tell you, that pork tenderloin was hands down one of the best I ever had. Major props to the chef! If you are traveling to Boulder, Colorado and looking for a fabulous date place, please make sure you add SALT to your must do list! Your taste buds will thank you later.
Rancho De Tia Rosa, http://www.ranchodetiarosa.com
3129 East McKellips Road
Arizona is known for their best Mexican restaurants but I must say that Rancho de Tia Rosa takes the cake (or the whole enchilada!). What started out as a small taco stand, is now a big family getaway for delicious home cooked food. Make sure you try out their shrimp enchiladas along with their massive margaritas. I guarantee you will have one hell of a good time!
Da Paolino Lemon Tree, http://www.paolinocapri.com
Via Palazzo a Mare, 11
Who doesn’t love Italy? I think I am actually in love with this country. Last time I was in Italy, I sailed across to Capri where I immediately felt like I was in the center of good food, beauty, and relaxation! Any couple looking to find a honeymoon vacation, please make sure you pick Capri ! AMAZING! If you find time to make it to the island, make sure you check out Da Paolino Lemon Tree Restaurant. You will dine under the sky of stars and lemon tree branches that canopy above the outside eating area. It is such a romantic atmosphere and their pasta is unforgettable.
La Cave, http://www.wynnlasvegas.com
3131 Las Vegas Blvd S
This small little hideaway tucked inside The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas is the perfect spot for a quiet intimate dinner. I remember walking by this restaurant while staying at The Wynn and thinking it looked a little dark. I decided to check it out so I could take a break from the Vegas vibe for one night. To start, I nibbled on their Chorizo, Italian & Andouille Sausage Flatbread which was divine and the perfect size portion. For my main course, I chose the sliced Sirloin Steak that came out to perfection. The service was firm and the bloody mary knocked my socks off. You can choose to eat outside as well but I recommend grabbing a seat inside so you can take in the scenery.
