In the spirit of the holiday season, I thought I would get a little personal and share with all of you seven things I am most grateful for this year. For those of you that have been following my blog, you know that I am a big fan of food, travel, beauty products, friends, my job, family and my handsome boyfriend.
With that said, I hope my fun filled list inspires you to create your own. This time of year can get really hectic, but if you focus on the areas of your life that bring you the most joy than I believe you can get through just about anything.
Let’s get started, shall we?!
1.) My Guy
I have to at least start with my sexy little devil. He is the ying to my yang, the happiness of my day and the most calm person I ever met. If you ever get the change to be around my number one guy than you would know why I have been with him for all these years. I also talk about him quite a bit on E!’s The Drama Queen so make sure you tune in Sunday nights!
2.) My Family
I wish there was a reality show based on my colorful family because I really do think it would be a massive hit. From my grandma, aunts, uncles, parents, siblings, cousins and all, they are one entertaining bunch! Yes, there are plenty of times when we can make each other scream, but at the end of the day I know we all have each other’s backs. Below is one of my favorite pics from this Summer of my sweet, smart, little Goddaughter. She is a super star.
3.) My Job
Take a look at these gorgeous pics of the home in Beverly Hills, California that I had the pleasure to work on. It’s stunning design, clean lines and lush location can all be yours as it is currently for sale (so A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!). I am so very thankful to work for an entrepreneur where each month can bring a new task and fresh adventure onto my plate. For those of you that are feeling miserable at work than my best advice to you is to think about what gets you motived, excited and inspired?
4.) My Home
Los Angeles has been my home for almost a decade. At times LA can be the most difficult place on Earth to live but at the same time so surprisingly magical. Looking back at it now, this city has been so good to me since the day I arrived and has made my wildest dreams come true. For that reason, I will always be grateful to the “City of Angeles” no matter how bad their traffic sucks (ha!).
5.) My Friends
We all know that saying, “you can’t pick your family but you can pick your friends who become family,” which you find to be true the older that you get. After over a decade of inside jokes and insanely crazy nights, I like to believe I have the greatest friends in the world. To my old friends and recent new friends, I thank you for your friendship and all the memories we have created this year.
6.) My Health
No, this is not an excuse to put up a shirtless selfie (well, maybe) but this is my way of telling you to never take your health for granted! Eat well, work out, stay fit and take care of your body. No excuses! Release those endorphins and get your buns to the gym!
7.) My Hometown Cities
Sweet Home Chicago, Phoenix and Philly! As some of you may know, Chicago is technically not my hometown but it is the city where I fell in love, lived for several years, and where my boyfriend’s family resides. We are actually visiting the “Windy City” right this very second and I must say that each time we drive through the massive downtown area, a zillion good memories come to mind. If you have never been to Chicago than I suggest you book a future trip as they have the best restaurants, hotels and people in the whole world. As for Phoenix and Philly, my heart is in both places and where I feel most relaxed. The beautiful mountains of Arizona and the buzzy streets of Philadelphia make me extremely happy. Always be thankful for where you were born and the places you grew up as they will be a part of you forever.
Start your gratitude list now and continue to add onto it throughout the year!
You will be pleasantly surprised how your life can change when you take the time to sit back and actually appreciate it.
