Personal Boundaries

Let’s talk about boundaries for a moment, and I’m not talking about the fences you put up to block out your neighbors.

Setting your personal boundaries is one of the best ways to take care of yourself.

Keep the core of who you are, what you believe in, your soul, and spirit protected.
There are times when you have to show people how you want to be treated.

Always be welcoming but never let anyone take advantage of your kindness. Creating a clear line is the key to ensuring respect of others. This “invisible line” can be a guide for what you and another person mutually consider to be acceptable behavior. This probably all sounds really serious (and overly guarded ), but you will be surprised how helpful healthy boundaries are in all aspects of your life.

For example, there are times when jokes can go too far especially between close friends and family. It is your duty to speak up for yourself and nicely (yet firmly) let the other person know that is not ok.  

My best advice is to maintain your boundaries throughout all your different relationships. Keep them fare, simple and always hold yourself with a cool demeanor.   

You are in charge of yourself – don’t forget that!
