I have fallen in love with Palm Springs for many reasons. Sure, the mountainous landscape that surrounds the lush palm tree scattered city is absolutely beautiful. But, what really has my heart beating is the easy-breezy vibe that glistens the streets, the friendly locals, quaint shops and darling little restaurants.
Oh, and I am also a huge fan of the mid-century-retro style homes.
Love, Love, Love them!!
So much so that I gathered my posse of friends for a weekend adventure at our own private Palm Springs pad.
Once you do get pass the monster traffic of LA and are finally breezing down freeway, you will start to see elements of Palm Springs from your car window. From the tall rocky mountains, cluster of outlet stores, funny looking windmills, to that one casino that literally pops out of nowhere.
As you enter the heart of Palm Springs, you begin to get a sense that you just entered a secret town. The brown desert surroundings start to suddenly fill up with big green palms, vintage looking resorts, antique shops, and cozy neighborhoods. The personality of Palm Springs comes to life and you begin to realize why so many celebs and fabulous people call it home (or their second home).
Pretty cool, huh??
After shortly entering this Palm Springs palace – our pool party colorfully erupted!
Even the sun setting did not put a stop to our wet and wild ways. With the magic of two technically savvy straight boys and one awesome projector, our daytime pool-time extended into the wee hours of the morning.
Football + Pool = Heaven
So, we put our party button on pause and ventured off for 5 mile hike through the Indian Canyons Hiking Trails!
Besides, there is no better feeling than making it to the end of a trail.
You also don’t feel so bad eating ice cream later that night! HA!
If you look closely, you can see the four us rejoicing (or is that us posing?).
After dusting off our feet and bringing our body temps down to a normal level – We swung into the near by juice bar.
Take a peak at their menu! I could not believe all the choices.
I chose the “PB Power” (minus the greek yogurt).
Once back at the casa, we laid low and continued cooling off in our backyard oasis.
Dinner in the desert.
….I hope you put Palm Springs on top of your list!!
Whether you stay in a luxury resort or create your own private retreat, I promise Palm Springs will be a place you will never forget.
