I absolutely love a long vacation or even a short staycation for that matter! Taking a pause from your everyday life is not only relaxing for your body but good for your mind. There are times when you just need to escape your usual surroundings and switch up your schedule in order to appreciate what you do have.
We decided to take a long weekend away to an area of Los Angeles that is known for its nightlife, hustle-bustle and tourists traps. Why? I have lived in LA for a decade and never explored the real heart of Hollywood Boulevard. Besides, any excuse to chill out in a hotel all weekend long sounded like absolute bliss to me.
After doing some research, I found that there are not too many unique hotels in Hollywood. You would think there would be some fabulous hot spots in that kind of hood but nothing really caught my eye. That was the case until I discovered, The Redbury Hotel. After scoping out their pictures online, I knew I found a winner.
The Redbury Hotel opened its doors in 2010 and has since made a mark in Hollywood as a place to go for cocktails, live music and more. With the Walk of Fame leading to its front door, this English Boho boutique hotel serves up originality that others should take note from.
Hotel guests are greeted by a small lobby that pulls you in with its classic black and white checkered flooring and stunning red drapery. If you love a dramatic look, you will definitely appreciate their first impression!
The ground level is also home to the hotel’s popular restaurant, Cleo, that is a local hit with their Mediterranean-inspired food and chic ambiance. It’s the perfect place for a first date as the lighting is just right and the service very professional.
What I really liked about The Redbury is that it’s just the right size. With only 57 rooms ranging from 750 to 1,020 square feet, each is decorated with an eclectic touch that features well thought out amenities and personal touches. From the outside, the reddish colored building does not seem grand so I was certainly surprised to see how big my suite-style room was once I walked in.
I felt that the room was well laid out and featured a decent sized kitchen area, living room, balcony, and a walk in shower big enough for a party. All the little details really made the vibe so welcoming.
From the stocked fridge, ornate dishes, and stove top…
…to the old fashioned record player, decorative accessories and wall decor…
The Redbury serves up a different sense of comfort and style for the crowd that wants to let loose and think out of the box. It has a fun (yet upscale) energy that is simply contagious, it really encourages you to go out and have a great time. The cool part is that you don’t even have to leave your room. During my stay, a decent sized audience gathered just below my balcony to watch the band, Late Night Alumni perform! HELLOOOOO – SO AWESOME!
It is a strangely glamorous experience that you won’t regret.
